Taper Notes:
View NotesI got this show through a B&P liquidation. The trader sent me her original CDRs, meaning that it is possible they are masters, burned by the taper. However, she did not remember who gave her the CDRs. As for the content, needless to say it is fantastic. Although it is an audience recording, the quality sounds pretty nice. "Rachael" is, as far as we know, an original Glen song played this one time only! The majority of the songs were played with a drummer and what sounds like a bassist. Here is where things get hazy: "Professional Victim" and "Maya" both sound like they were played with a drummer, but the percussion-like sounds are so faint that I could be mistaken. It is possible they were played by Glen solo-acoustic. It is possible that the thumping sounds are actually the band setting up, but not actually playing anything. It's very difficult to tell. In any case, from "Easier" onward, the drums cannot be mistaken, and it sounds like a bassist is playing, too. For "Marigolds" the drummer bows out, but the bassist seems to play along. If I am not mistaken, that would make this the only known recording of "Marigolds" with anything other than Glen and his guitar. A couple of the other songs were rarely if ever performed elsewhere with a drummer, namely "The Hole" and "The Innocent." All in all, this is an amazing show, in decent quality, with a special setlist and unique performances. Enjoy!
