While the Audio-CD standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial) to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player. Burning Instructions Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any normal Audio-CD from FLAC files. Brokedown House Production

much less hiss than the previously circulating "SBcass > DAT > CDR" Discs were generously supplied by Seth Kaplan EAC>SHN transfer by Steve Barbella 3/02 EAC secure test and copy, offsets config'd, 100% track quality SHNs created via MKW v.97 (seek enabled) shntool used to verify the sectors...they were fine. Deadlists Comments: The newly circulating CDs transcribe Latvala's cassette copy of the master reels. The cassette has a flip about 11 minutes in to the Dark Star but Latvala must have put some overlap on B because there is no cut audible on the well-produced CD. A 41 minute fragment from this tape has circulated for years, usually mislabeled "Family Dog 8/29/69" but sometimes also mislabeld "Family Dog 6/5/69" or "Fillmore West 6/5/69." This fragment contains the last 17:50 of Dark Star through the first 3:28 of High Time.

First 10 minutes of Dark Star, the 28 second cut at about 22 min and the last 3 minutes of the orginal audience were replaced using the soundboard. The recording was way slow - about 2 seconds per minute as compared to the soundboard which I used as the timing reference. Brokedown House Production

Notes: First 10:38 of Dark Star missing At 11:13 into the Dark Star, there was a 28 second cut Last 3:30 of High Time missing Per Steve Martin " It was on Ampex tape and had horrible stiction, flaking, and oxide coming off on the head. I baked it a couple times and ended up using Q-tips and Everclear as an alcohol base to get it to playback." --------------------------------------------------------- - Mixed by kevtobin@yahoo.com - FLAC conversion 24-AUG-2021 - Trader Little Helper - Tagged 24-AUG-2021 - Tag&Rename --------------------------------------------------------- Brokedown House Production

Caveat Auditor: The sound is pretty rough, this certainly does NOT upgrade ID-8594. However, as an example of an early audience recording, it does have historical interest. This is likely the same "mislabled fragment" that is referred to on Deadlists. The lineage was listed as: Aud Master > Reel > Latvala's Reel > Cassette > Seaweed's cassette (4th gen). The recording is mono. There are some cuts that were left un-repaired: Dark Star 2:21 (a lot missing), Dark Star 7:11, St. Stephen 6:27 (tiny skip), and The Eleven 1:13. Small FLAC sizes due to mono WAV data.
