Here's one from March 13, 2017 on the Jammin Jed Luckless 2017 Winter Rocks Tour in Secondlife, which featured an elaborate stage setup and a psychedelic digital light show by Moondance Parx. This show was at a venue called Purple Rain and it was the second in a three night run at the peak of the tour (with Sage the night before and Bonaventure the following night). The energy is off the hook at this one as momentum builds on the three show run. You know it's gonna be an energetic evening when Jed opens with "Maserati." He ramps it right up to "110" but eases back on the gas for "Celebrate Instead" before accelerating again with "Doesn't" and the first substantial jam of the night, approaching nearly twenty minutes. The guitar solo portion is hot, and the attached improv jam goes deep, with a driving beat, synthesizer leads and shredding guitar riffs that slide smoothly into Jed's original ballad "Secret Language." Lenghty versions of "Catfish Friend" and "By And Bye" round out the first set, which only features six songs, but still clocks in at over an hour. Second set is even longer as Jed enjoys having no curfew at the venue. The second set opener is the Christine Lanfranco co-penned "Missing Us," and Jed infuses it with guitar solos and improv jams that feature wicked tones, plenty of wah-wah, a funky piano melody and even a Peter Frampton tease. Twenty two minutes later, Jed hits the brakes with a sharp turn into the soft and gentle "Own," which brings a nice breather. But not for long as Jed turns up the volume again with "Multiply" which also features an extended jam, before giving way to the folksy "It Ain't Living," followed nicely by the Grateful Dead's "Friend Of The Devil." There's at least one more jam waiting in "On Hold," which is paired with the always fun closer, "Used To Feel Good." As Jed says, "you can't play Purple Rain without playing Purple Rain," and he does for the encore. By popular demand, he delivers a double encore, Cap-ing it off with some Tap, and the fun cover song "Gimme Some Money." This is an exceptionally high energy show full of mostly originals and featuring fantastic jams in "Doesnt" and "Missing Us." There's also several other hot jams as well as a few quiet numbers too, like the rarely played "Secret Language." And if you're a Prince or Spinal Tap fan you'll definitely want to check out the encore. Enjoy!
