Schoeps mk5(cardioid, On Stage DFC, DIN) -> kc-5 -> cmc6xt -> Sonosax SX-M2 -> Sound Devices 744T -> WAV (@24/96); WAV -> SoundForge Pro 10.0c (normalize, fades; 96->44.1 resample with iZotope 64-Bit SRC at higher than "Highest Quality" setting w/anti-alias filter; 24->16 bit dither using iZotope MBIT+ Dither with Ultra noise shaping, High dither settings) -> CDWav -> FLAC
Taper Notes:
View NotesMarco Benevento - piano, organ, vocals Johnny Vidacovich - drums Andy Hess - bass * w/ Scott Metzger - guitar Note: There are some weird little tick/zap noises in the left channel during the second set that sound somewhat like diginoise from the DAT days. To rule out any post-production processing errors I copied these files to my HDD three different times from the CF card and direct from the 744T HDD but the little noises are there in both filesets. I don't know how to remove them so they remain...they really aren't terrible but I hear them. I also ran an on stage mk21/mk8 (m/s) pair and will post that once I've decoded and mixed those files and perhaps the little noises that I speak of will not be present on that recording. There is a higher quality 24 bit version of this recording available here: http://archive.org/details/mbt2013-02-12.mk5.flac24 There is also an on stage Schoeps mk21/mk8 m-s recording of this show available here (16 bit): http://archive.org/details/mbt2013-02-12.mk21-mk8ms.flac16
