--the origins of this music venue date back to 2003, when musician Steve Rodgers opened an all-ages, 150-person capacity, alcohol-free club named "The Space" (2003 thru 2017-12-22) that served as a listening room for everyone & became a cornerstone of Connecticut's music scene...in May 2011, Steve & his wife Jesse expanded their footprint & opened "The Outer Space" (May 2011 thru 2017-12-22) at the same address/complex, an adult, 21 & over counterpart to "The Space" with an 80-person capacity - a music venue attached to a craft beer bar...on 2013-03-15, the Rodgers opened "Spaceland Ballroom" (aka "The Outer Space / Ballroom";  aka "The Ballroom at the Outer Space") (2013-03-15 thru 2017-12-22), a 'just under 300-person capacity' music venue which was adjacent & attached to "The Outer Space"...all 3 of these venues sadly closed on 2017-12-22 when Steve & Jesse Rodgers had fallen behind on the rent & new owners swooped in & took over the spots & in January 2018 reopened the "Spaceland Ballroom" & "The Outer Space" all together as "Space Ballroom" (January 2018 thru present [2026]) & reopened "The Space" as "The Cellar on Treadwell" (January 2018 thru present [2026])
