View NotesHenfling's was a great little bar in the mountains above Santa Cruz. Biker bar by day, but used to host an incredible array of music at night when the hippies would take over. The place is tiny. Capacity was only 150 packed to the gills, but there were probably only 30-40 people there for this show. I was set up with my mics at head height about 12' from the stage. It was almost like an onstage recording, because the place is so small and the amps so loud. The only thing coming through the little PA was vocals, and a maybe a bit of the drums and washboard. Everything else is just stage volume. Turned out sounding pretty good all things considered.
