The Tricycle Side Project is as abstract and improvisational as it gets. The musicians had played together just one time before performing at the "Down by the River" party in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Albert Hoffman's infamous bicycle ride.  No jams were written before the performance.  Each jam begins with an abstract melody or rhythm, usually initiated by an analog synth, which determines the key and basic rhythmic patterns.
