I Know You Rider / @ 2:54 Row Jimmy skips @ 8:42>8:43 Master Reel Flip in Let It Grow Short Cut at end of Dark Star Reel change in Wharf Rat (d3t04) @ 6:36 Bob Clevenger got this show from Diana Hamilton and retracked it even more so that set 1 all goes on disc 1 if you use an 80 minute CDR. He also smoothed out the reel change mentioned above so that there is no loud POP!

Matrix: Source a= soundboard shnid 97511 (not pitch-corrected) Source b= Dan McDonald audience flat transfer of cassette masters Source c= Adam G audience flat transfer of cassette masters Sources b & c transferred with Nakamichi BX-1 adapted for flat transfer; eq applied with Diamond Cut Forensics 8. Notes: Notes: I have put the longer audience, tuning, announcements, portions as separate tracks so that those who want the full show will have that, while those who want only the music can eliminate those portions. The single exception is the beginning of Weather Report Suite, which is announced as "for all you rowdies out there." Occasionally, there is variation in the vocal location. This appears to be some sort of anomaly between what was recorded through the 'soundboard' tape and what actually went through the speakers. Audience/tuning material from source B (almost entirely) Dusborne did all the synchronization work. Droncit is responsible for the overall mix and sound. Designed to be played loud. Thanks to Adam G for trusting me with the tapes and doing such a nice job on the recording. Thanks to TDK for making tapes that can hold up well for 40 years. Thanks to Craig of Diamond Cut for all the help with the theory and eq curves. Thanks to my dad for the electronics tweaks. 87 and going strong! Thanks to Dusborne (Dave Usborne) for all the synchronization work. Thanks to Mrs. Dusborne (Tina Usborne) for listening and offering opinions. Thanks to Melinda B. (wherever you are) for help with the microphone/recorder and comments about Bob Weir's haircut. ------- *Me & Bobby McGee - Source a & b only **Jack Straw & China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider: sources a and c only ***U-boat Story - Source B only (Source C had a lot of level changes)

Audience Cassette->Nakamichi Dragon->Sony PCMR300 Dat (16/44.1)->Sound Forge eq and normalization
Taper Notes:
View Notes
This was recorded by a friend of mine. He had Garcia's/the band's permission, and was able to record very close to the stage. It doesn't appear to circulate very much, although know some dat copies were made in the mid-1990s. This is from a transfer he did in 1998, burned to CD. No Microphone information. He used a Sony TC-126 deck with CRO2 tape, no dolby. Lineage for this version : Cassette-> Nakamichi Dragon-> Sony PCMR300 Dat (16/44.1)-> sound Forge equalization & normalization. I extracted it from CD and haven't done anything else with it. I thought I heard a few digital artifacts suggesting noise reduction, but his notes don't indicate that. He missed taping "Me & Bobby McGee" I have tracked thw songs sequentually rather than by disk. If you want to burn to CD, tracks 1-14 make CD1 tracks 15-19 make cd2, with room for track 25, and tracks 20-24 fit as cd3. Otherwise, you will neeed 4 cds to keep them in order. Adam, if you're out there, email me at droncit@yahoo.com. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tagging notes: Show information is embedded within the header of each flac file. It will display on any player capable of directly playing flac files. If converted to wav during processing, all tags will be stripped, however audio data will remain unaffected. If you must transcode to a lossy format, do so directly Flac > Lossy. Use ffp to validate audio integrity. Md5 values will change if tagging is altered. B. Proctor 10-23-12
